How many times can a girl say 'hopefully'?  Well it feels like way too many right now - 'hopefully we can announce...', 'hopefully they will get back to us...'.  Things are happening behind the scenes but we just can't officially say anything yet and for an impatient girl like me keeping quiet is no easy task.  I am so grateful that the Barcelona World Race is providing a necessary distraction from glaring at my inbox waiting for the e mail that means we can at least get started.  As the fleet races hard towards Cape Horn, I can't help but imagine the two of us in our little Class 40 sailing past in awe of an incredible place that has both terrified and enchanted sailors for hundreds of years.  That thought in itself is enough to provide the necessary boot up the proverbial to write the next proposal!

I have really started to appreciate the benefits of double handed team work, this is a frustrating game of project management but at least there are two of us going through it.  One day Anna and I will look back at some of our e mails and laugh at our outpourings, I guess you could call it e mail therapy.  At least one other person in the world know exactly how you feel.

I paid a visit to BBC Radio Solent last week to pre record and interview for the Katie Martin show which is due to be aired next week.  It is part of a week long series featuring inspirational women who make their living from working at sea.  It is always an honor to be considered inspirational and it was great to take a mini break from my laptop which I seemed to be glued to at the moment.

So 'hopefully'  we will be able to reveal what has been going on behind the scenes soon and once we can, we will officially be done with 'hopefully's'.  Don't forget you can keep up to date with all of the latest news by following us on Twitter @GORGirls.  More soon....

I include a question mark in the title of this blog as I would hate to be presumptious.  Anna and I have nearly driven ourselves crazy thinking about, working on and nurturing this project.  Somedays it is like taking one step forward and two steps back and then suddenly some positivity.  We have done the rounds of boat shows and have lined up our technical partners, a great start but what about the boat?  After all a great big pile of electronics, sails and wet weather gear will not get us around the world on their own (although possibly could be the makings of 'Plan B').

A look back through my updates and all are based around the continued sponsor hunt, drawing on the deepest of reserves of inner calm and genuine belief that this will all happen.  I decided to throw caution to the wind and write about a little genuine good news.  No we don't have a bank balance swelling with more money than we know what to do with - and yes we still have a very long way to go - and no the countdown timer has not stalled affording us more time BUT we do have our first financial investor who is able to offer significant investment in our company so finally things are starting to move.

The great test in a team of two is for only one of the team to be truly wound up at any one time.  So far our stress levels have complimented one another and for once when someone says 'I know how you feel' you really genuinely know they do!  We must use this opportunity to say a massive thank you to our first major investor and we welcome anyone with money to spend and a keen interest in sailing to get in touch, we have a great new investor proposal waiting with your name on it!  We would both also like to thank everyone who has been supportive or who has offered support and to those very few who have raised an eyebrow...just you wait and see!
